Thank you and Merry Christmas

Dear Friends,

I approach the longest night of the 2023 with a light heart. I have many bright spots from the past year that I can look to and appreciate. In the end, my greatest joy comes from helping people see the Lord’s gracious character and loving hand on every part of our existence.

To the people who joined in, prayed for, fussed over the details of, and supported our church, a sincere thank you. It’s been a wonderful year.

Among the highlights for me were:

  • Our Family Day Ice Skating with Dinner together afterwards

  • Our Friday Worship Night with Jervis Djokoto

  • Ken Foo’s Preaching series on Shame and Vulnerability

  • Our Compassion Sunday with Alyssa Esparaz

  • Our Joint Fellowship Night with Barnabas, Friday Night Men’s Group, Titus and Jireh participating

  • A summer that had a VBS, Teens Camp, Men’s Retreat and our English Congregation retreat

  • Strong support for our Sunday worship including the return of our morning choir

I hope to see as many of you as a I can in person at our last special event of 2024: this Saturday’s Music Worship “The Road to Bethlehem” starting at 7pm. I’ll have a short message on what made the shepherds from the field to Bethlehem.

On Sunday we will have a simple Christmas Sunday service with congregational singing and music from our morning choir and from the Children’s Sunday School. I’ll give the 2nd part of the Christmas message and talk about what the shepherds saw.

For those who can’t make it in person, both Saturday and Sunday services will be livestreamed and can be found on our Toronto Chinese Baptist church YouTube channel. To those I miss seeing, may you have a restful and joyful Christmas with family and friends.

Blessings,

Pastor Nolan
