Advent Devotions

Hey Friends,

I hope you are looking forward to December and preparations for the Christmas season. One of my key take aways from Paddy Wong’s sermon last Sunday “Prepare your heart for Advent” is that setting aside time to rest in God’s presence and not just “reading about the meaning of Christmas” is the key to having spiritual refreshment in these next weeks. That does not mean I don’t recommend devotional reading for Advent. Most Advent devotionals for 2023 will put Sunday Dec. 3 as Day 1. You don’t have to be rigid about it and can start earlier because I find for myself, it’s easy to have days so full we miss our reading.

We will have Advent devotionals available next Sunday. For those who can’t come in-person or for those who prefer an online devotional you can download them using the links below.

CBOQ Advent Reader 2023 “The Names of Jesus” written by staff and pastors of CBOQ

Langham Global Partners 2023 “The Coming King” written by missionaries across the globe

This week we have Simon Pan preaching from Psalm 130 “Pray-er is more than…” We look forward to seeing you in-person or having us join on-line.

Blessings,

Pastor Nolan
