Santa Clause Is Coming To Town
Hey Friends,
Yes, it’s that time of year again. Downtown Toronto’s Santa Clause Parade is happening this Sunday, starting at 12:30pm from Christie Station, travelling around Queen’s Park and down University Avenue before heading east to St. Lawrence Market. Stick around in the afternoon and walk 5 min. to University Avenue to watch it if that’s your thing. Otherwise, be prepared for a difficult exit out of downtown. If you are trying to go North or East my guess is you will need to go south to the DVP or West to Dufferin and have to be prepared for heavy traffic. Again, Bloor from Christie to University Ave. and University Ave. from Bloor to King is the main parade route and will be uncrossable by car, bus or streetcar.
This does mean that we are getting close to the Christmas Season. As we close out this year, my aim is to see our Sunday Worship provide space for us to make room to recall the miracle of Christ’s birth and experience God’s love for us. This Sunday’s message is “Prepare my heart for the coming of Jesus”. Scripture is Matthew 3:1-6. Some background on Paddy Wong if you are interested: http://www.holisticsanctuary.ca/about-paddy/
Some dates to remember for the next few weeks:
Dec. 3 Communion Sunday, Simon Pan preaching
Dec. 10 Martin Tam preaching
Dec. 17 Cookie Exchange after service and TCBC caroling in the afternoon
And we’ve started a sign-up sheet for people to bring refreshments every Sunday. Hopefully this would encourage more engagement in building a welcoming community.

Finally, Friends for Dinner is looking to match up international students with hosts who can add an extra seat to their holiday meal. You can find information on https://friendsfordinner.ca/
