Pentecost Sunday

Hello Friends,

The weather looks fine for this weekend and so far…no major road closures or planned TTC service interruptions!

Just a reminder that this Friday is a Fellowship Mixer at St. George the Martyr (south side of Grange Park) followed by worship at TCBC.

Meet up at St. George at 7:30pm.

Sunday is our Mission Sunday led by Compassion Canada. We have Alyssa Esparaz here to challenge us with a message about how being part of what Jesus is doing amongst people living in poverty draws us closer to Him and reminds us of who He is. The following week June 4, we will have a baptism and communion service.

Next weekend is also the Big Give when those of us who have useful items that we no longer use, can pass it onto those who need these items. Someone shared with me that they call it “freecycling”. If you want to participate, we have a Sign Up Sheet: June 2-3, 2023 Big Give Participation

a) Sunday May 28 to Friday June 2 (drop off items)

b) Friday June 2 (sort and pre-set up)

Time: 6pm to 9pm (pizza included)

c) Saturday June 3

Time: 8am to 10am (help to set up), 10am to 1pm (give away of items)

Finally, for those who have been attending our Sunday morning class, I’ve enjoyed the last 7 weeks encouraging group conversations about the core elements of Christianity. The It’s been great to see people interact on topics such as trust, belief, rules and of course, what makes Jesus special. Starting in June, we will have two classes that will run until July:

Conversations on Discipleship: A reading through Philippians

Growth and Renewal: to be like Jesus, taught by Mary Leung

Sunday morning class is from 11:30am to 12:30pm and there is always lots of discussion.

Blessings,

Pastor Nolan
