January Update
Hey Friends,
Last night we had Victor Wong, our in-house certified Plan-to-Protect trainer giving a refresher on how to keep our children’s ministry programs and spaces safe. For me it’s good to be reminded of best practices in caring and leading young people. What was special was that it was both our Friday night men’s group together with Children’s Sunday School teachers and helpers. From all three congregations we are doing what we can to teach children about Jesus.
Tomorrow we have Rev. Joseph Mok speaking in our morning service about a unique outreach developed in Hong Kong. Our speaker has long ties with TCBC but will bring a fresh perspective on how to have compassion on the “Most Lost” in our cities.
This week we also have Mary Leung leading a couples class: “Journey together with One Heart and Mind”. Her focus will be on helping couples relate better. This class fits in perfectly with our study of Genesis and the description of marriage in Genesis 2.
As a church we are starting choir rehearsals for the Good Friday service on Sunday January 28 at 2pm. Please ask Amanda or anyone from the morning choir about joining in if you are interested in singing with our joint choir. Good Friday is not far away (Mar. 29) and we are also looking to have baptisms for those who feel they are ready on Easter Sunday (Mar. 31). If you believe in Jesus but have not make this step to publicly declare faith I invite you to pray and talk to the Lord about what is holding you back. Please reach out to me if there are any questions about faith and the importance of baptism.
In Christ,
Pastor Nolan
