It's A Long Weekend In February!

Hey Friends,

Whatever our fancy: skiing, skating, shopping, playing in the snow (!), sleeping in—we have an extra day to do it this weekend.

Saturday Volleyball Feb. 17 from 10:30am to 12:30pm

Here is the sign up form for this Saturday’s gym time: https://forms.gle/zTaFpk45mbQRNWe16

Family Day Skate Feb. 19 from 5pm to 6pm

If you do like skating, we have the regulation sized ice rink at Mattamy Athletic Centre reserved for our use. Feel free to invite Family and Friends.

1. Location is 50 Carleton St. (just east of College TTC station)

2. Once you have arrived at the facility, you will take the escalators all the way up to the top. On the display monitors you will find dressing room and ice under the name Nolan Lee

3. Ice time is 5:00pm to 5:50pm so please come early to the dressing rooms to lace up your skates and use the full time on the ice.

Note: there are no skate rentals at this site; closest rental is Nathan Phillips Square. Also children under 12 are required to have helmets and be accompanied by an adult.

Fellowship Dinner Feb. 19 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm

You are invited to join us for dinner. We provide the pizza and spaghetti. You are welcome to bring whatever you can to round out the dinner. I will be asking skaters if they want to attend as I hand out the waiver forms. That way we can make sure we have the right amount of food. You are also welcome to come to just the dinner.

Location is 30 Gloucester St. Go to the rear of the parking and you will see the community room. Come anytime after 6:00pm and someone can let you in the door. Dinner is at 6:30pm.

Chinatown Planning Study Consultation: Sunday March 3, from 1-2pm

This is for those who missed last Sunday’s invitation. The City of Toronto is organizing a small group consultation with local churches to discuss and learn more about your views around Chinatown. This event will take place at the Chinese Gospel Church (450 Dundas St. W), basement. To participate, please register at bit.ly/chinatownconsultationregistration.

If you are unable to attend, there are many other ways of providing your feedback. You can fill out our online survey at chkmkt.com/chinatownstudy, or you can nominate someone or yourself to join one of our in-person roundtable discussions at https://s.cotsurvey.chkmkt.com/ctarnomination. For more information about the Chinatown Planning Study, please visit http://toronto.ca/chinatownstudy

This Sunday

We have Eddie Chee continuing in our preaching series on the story of Joseph and Salvation in the Old Testament.

Baptism

Finally, if you have ever considered baptism, we are holding a baptism service on Easter Sunday March 31. We have our first of 6 baptism preparation classes this Sunday. It will be held in our church basement classroom from 11:30am to 12:30pm. This class is for those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour and wish to follow his instruction in being baptized and formerly being a member of a church.

In Christ,

Pastor Nolan
