Happy pre-Canada Day Weekend
Hey Friends,
Whatever your plans are: road trip, gardening, cycling/sports, indoor or outdoor I hope you are looking forward to the upcoming weekend. School is out. The heat has broken and we are back to seasonal temperatures. Church is on, as with every Sunday. Receiving and appreciating what we have been given is the foundation of our worship because we believe in our hearts that it all comes from the Lord.
If you are attending in-person, you will notice that our church is less populated:
our Mandarin congregation has 40 members (including 9 children and 4 students) attending the annual city wide discipleship retreat being held at Redeemer College in Hamilton
our English congregation has 27 members, friends, helpers and counsellors attending our TCBC Annual Teens Camp being held at Pinery Provincial Park
Nevertheless, we never know when visitors will make it their week to drop in to experience what our church is like. Please consider joining our welcome team and/or coming early to greet newcomers and to make connections with other church members. This is a house of prayer for all nations, and together we make it that when we take that next step in joining in the work.
Rev. Ken will be continuing the sermon Series "Living as God's Covenant Community" with a message on being a "Covenant Community Reflecting God's Mercy" You can prepare for this ahead of time by reading Romans 12. In the Sunday Class that follows, Ken's Bible teaching will continue with Jesus' teaching about the Kingdom of God through the Parables.
The focus of our summer is going back to the foundations of Word and Prayer. At the Alpha Worship and Prayer night, I witnessed the Holy Spirit calling His people to be united in prayer and outreach. I'm excited to be leading three regular prayer times and invite you join in and/or to form your own prayer partnerships and groups that call on God to bring transformation to His church and through His church to bring light to the world.
English congregation led prayer times are:
Every Wednesday 1:00-2:30pm, In-person community prayer meeting held at 22 McCaul St. (guests of Toronto Community Housing residents)
Every Wednesday 8:30-9:30pm, over Zoom Meeting ID: 954 1599 6882, Passcode: 957516
Every 4th Sunday: Congregational Prayer for TCBC happens immediately after the worship service
Blessings,
Rev. Nolan
