It's Going To Be Another Busy Weekend In The City
Hey friends,
When I read that in my cp24 feed, I know what to expect. “Busy” means planning around road closures. Here goes:
Journey to Conquer Cancer: The fundraiser for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre will result in the following road closures on Sunday between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Queen's Park Crescent West between Bloor and Dundas Streets.
College Street between University and Spadina Avenues.
Harbord Street and Hoskin Avenue between Huron Street and Queen's Park Crescent West.
Huron and St George (this is Beverley St. south of College) Streets between College and Harbord Streets.
Parts of Devonshire Place and Orde, Murray and McCaul Streets (around the hospitals)
Also: Richmond Street West will be blocked between University Avenue and York Street from 6 a.m. on Saturday to 6 a.m. on Tuesday for TTC streetcar track installation.
Finally: Bloor St. will be closed between Avenue Road to Yonge Street from noon to 5pm for the Yorkville Exotics Car Show. This effectively cutting off many northbound street routes for drivers who usually heading up from city core after church. (That being said, what dad would not appreciate spending Father’s Day looking at dream cars with their family and hearing the words, “When you retire, we’ll get you one of those!”)
Two of our two summer students Eric and Andrew were invited to help out at the Ogden School Fun Fair this Friday. They have been hard at work this month building out the VBS week for July 15-19. We will be closing registration and finalizing camper groups soon so this is the last chance to recommend our camp to any friends with children attending elementary school. For those who are volunteering there is a team meetings, teacher training, decoration construction, Teen’s camp are all happening in the next 2 weeks. Make sure to check your DM’s from Eric and Andrew!
Tomorrow’s message is “When God fights for you”. We are back into Exodus and learning what it means to follow after the Lord who has an equal desire for compassion and justice.
In Christ,
Pastor Nolan
