July 14 – Mid Month Update
Hey friends,
Please note the road closures this weekend: there may be an issue if you are coming downtown from the West End of Toronto as the Honda Indy is taking place and Lakeshore Blvd is closed.
Last Minute Change – Deacon Anthony will be speaking this Sunday (July 17) on Stephen The Deacon. Dr. Ung will be speaking next Sunday (July 24).
There will be a minor disruption though this Sunday. Thankfully it is not related to the internet, and it’s restricted to TCBC!
This Sunday there will be a Fire Drill starting around 10:40-45 AM. This will be after the English sermon has finished. However, at whatever point that the fire alarm will occur, the service will conclude. Our livestream operator is not allowed to remain on-site and we will shut down the livestream feed.
Following the fire drill, the church will be open again. It’s then you can return inside to use the washroom or want to stay and chat with others. (Please follow the direction of our volunteer fire marshals on when it’s okay to go back into the building. As this is a drill, please take all your belongings with you when you vacate the premises.)
This will not affect our Children’s ministry: they will be enjoying their Bible teaching, worship, crafts and gym time without interruption at Chinese Presbyterian Church from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
At 1:00 PM we will invite all who wish to join us for basketball to come to the Chinese Presbyterian Church gym for an afternoon of play. This is also a great time to meet new people and to get to know other congregational members. Next Sunday we will be setting up to play badminton!
Looking ahead we have a second Teens Camp running from July 31-Aug 2. The location will be at Sibbald Point and the bus travel is covered in the $50 cost.
Our English Ministry retreat on the weekend of August 19-21. Please go to the Google doc for information on these and other events.
Finally, our Friday night walking club will be meeting up at 7:30 on the North East corner of Yonge and Eglinton. We are going to walk along a portion of the Kay Gardnier Beltline trail. This is an outdoor activity and everyone is welcome to join us. Call me if you want to join us and we will be looking out for you (647-636-1832)
Blessings,
Pastor Nolan
