June 16 – We’re Going Home!!!
Hey Friends,
Now we have to make it work, with as few disruptions as possible.
At the same time the volunteers who have been supporting our on-line and in-person worship need some rest.
With both considerations in mind, our church leadership has decided that the best course of action is for the English service to take place on the 1st floor chapel. This is the newly renovated area that is capable of seating up to 80 people. Broadcast wise, the worship will be simplified–and I will be working out with our tech team on a simple set up that we can train others in operating. We will do our best not to interrupt our livecast schedule during this transition.
The choice of the 1st floor chapel is in part to give our English tech team and worship helpers (myself included) a break for the month of July. While at St. George, our team has been setting up the stage, overseeing registration, leading worship and running the livecast. We’d like to release the team members from any responsibilities for this period.
The newly renovated area is fully accessible, well lit and easy to set up on a Sunday. Our church leaders will organize helpers from our Cantonese and Mandarin congregations to relieve our Sunday support team members and we will have guest speakers in July. I will be leading the communion service on the first Sunday and will be there to welcome everyone back.
The choice to use the 1st floor chapel also keeps our Sunday worship times from being disrupted. There are ongoing concerns that once we have two congregations using the main sanctuary, the Cantonese worship will not have enough time to set up and start at 11:15am. With this arrangement, for the summer English and Mandarin worship will keep their start time at 10am and be on the first floor and second floor chapels respectively. The Cantonese worship service will begin at 11:15am in the main sanctuary. Our Children’s ministry will be held at Chinese Presbyterian Church, starting at 10am, during the summer.
Thank you for your patience throughout these past 2 years. Your support is highly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you back at TCBC if you are coming in-person and to providing you with a way to follow us online. Further details on our on-line platform will be forthcoming.
In Christ,
Pastor Nolan
