Our Vision:

  • “It really started with me. I had an identity crisis coming into the NFL. I didn’t know who I was in Christ, which is the most important thing: to know who you are in Christ, to know your purpose. I would play a football game, break all these records, and go home and sit down, and it would be like…feel empty… There’s got to be something more.”

NFL All-Pro Running back Matt Forte

Starting in 2018, the pastors of TCBC set out a 5 year running theme for our ministry, all centered around being “in Christ”

    2018 Rooted in Christ

2019 Deeper in Christ – Knowing God

2020 Deeper in Christ – Knowing Self

    2021 Growing in Christ

The theme for 2022 is “Bear fruit in Christ”.

We believe that the growth of believers’ spiritual life leads to fruitfulness. Nothing happens though when we are separated from our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is not only the Head of the church, but also the Lord of individual believers. Jesus said that He and He only was the source of our life.

John 15:5: “I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit.”

Our vision is to have every member share the same goal: to “abide in Christ” so that we can “bear much fruit”

This includes bearing the fruit of Christian character as mentioned in Galatians 6:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” There is the fruit of our inner character. From our inner Christ directed heart though, we will see visible fruit.

We will see ourselves Trusting in Jesus Completely, Connecting with Others, Building Faith in Others, and Caring for our Community. That’s who we. Or more precisely, that’s who we want to be.

We welcome you to our community and invite you to get involved in the ministries that happen here throughout the week and on Sundays.

    a. Trust

“My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” (Mark 11:17, NIV) No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, our mission is to be a welcoming place for you to experience the Grace of Jesus Christ, the Love of God and the Presence of God’s Holy Spirit in your life.

    b. Connect

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” (Proverbs 27:17—New Living Translation) On Sundays you will find those who attend coming from a variety of backgrounds. Some are still seeking answers, some are new to the Toronto area, some are returning to church after an absence, many are students, and some are long-time members of our local church. Our mission is to be a place where people can connect.

    c. Build

Our mission is to help spiritually-searching people grow in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. We promote Christian educations through classes taught by members. Regardless of who is teaching, our mission is to build people up through clear, insightful, thought-provoking, sometimes humourous and always relevant wisdom from the Scriptures.

    d. Care

Our mission is to celebrate our faith in God by making a positive difference in people’s lives. As our world changes, our church humbly seeks to dialogue with our communities to discover practical ways we can serve. Our goal is simply to care for our community. Our vision is to be transformed people who gather as a transformed church to effect the positive transformation of the communities we live and work in. Will you join us in serving together?
